ADDITIONAL RIGOR AND CHALLENGE FOR CERTAIN STUDENTS

*Students are identified as uniquely gifted and placed in cluster groups within language arts classes.

*Cluster students are identified and cluster classes are formed at the end of a school year for the following academic year.

*Students in clusters also receive additional support through the counseling department.

*Specific instruction and practice are provided related to higher order thinking skills and executive functioning skills, and the unique psychological and emotional needs of gifted and talented students are addressed.

*Students placed in cluster groups will be part of the cluster for the academic year.

*Cluster groups will be reassigned annually using objective measures.

*Placement in a cluster one year does not mean placement is guaranteed for the next year.
