Future Educators Club

Advisor: Mrs. Kennealy
[email protected]

Start time: Fall of each year

Cost*: none

Who can participate: Open to students in all grade levels. Due to the larger numbers of students that wish to be involved in Future Teachers, upper classmen and those with Future Teacher experience will be assigned first. J

What it’s all about:   We often have well over 100 kiddos participate in our Future Teachers’ Club.  Being involved in this club gives students the opportunity to see what teachers do “behind the scenes” and teachers love the help! Mrs. Kennealy will host an informational meeting in the fall to discuss expectations and pass out applications.  Students will turn in those applications and then be assigned a cooperating teacher (elementary or middle school host teacher) or be part of the “Future Teacher Activity Group”. Cooperating teachers are assigned to upper classmen first, then to students who have participated in our Future Teacher Club, and finally to kids who turned  application in the order they were submitted in.  Once assigned, Future Teachers will make arrangements to volunteer in their cooperating teacher’s classroom each week. Students work from one day per week for the remainder of the school year. Our “Future Teacher Activity Group” will meet 4+ times a year and will also do special projects for teachers when requested to do so. J
