Daily Announcements

Tuesday, May 19th - A Day

  • The book Ms. McAlpin recommends is about 6 teenagers that are not 100% human. They are not ordinary kids, they have wings and can fly. The main character knows what it is like to soar above the world but unfortunately with the ups, there are also nightmarish downs.

  • Attention all 7th graders interested in playing football next year, there will be an informational meeting this Thursday during advisory.  Mr. Black will make an announcement at lunch that day to remind everyone.

  • Congrats to the HMS Outdoor Club on their success fishing at the Cottage Grove Ravine yesterday.

  • For anyone that has overdue HMS media center books, Please get them turned in. We have 12 more school days to get them in. If you cannot find a book, please look again. Check your backpack, classrooms, locker, and at home. Any questions, please swing by the media center.

  • Raider Way - Safe, Respectful, Responsible

Monday, May 18th - B Day

  • Last week’s Clean Up, People (CUP) award was won by sixth grade! Sixth graders have earned one day this week of extra outside time during advisory. This award will have a new grade-level winner each week so remember to Clean Up, People!

  • Ms. McAlpin’s has the book recommendation that is the first book in a series. As a student, this is the book that got her excited about reading. She liked that it was interesting right away. She actually liked it so much that she went on to read the whole 9 book series! Goodreads, agrees. It is ranked 4.1 out of 5. This book is popular!

  • Reminder for all Outdoor Clubs kids attending the fishing trip to Cottage Grove today: report to Mr. Shemon’s room right after school for a quick meeting before we leave.
