My name is Ryan Wynn, and I am honored to serve as the Principal of Hastings Middle School. I firmly believe that every student deserves a quality education. As educators, it is our responsibility to build respectful and positive relationships, create welcoming environments, and ensure that each student is valued for their unique experiences.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Hamline University. Additionally, I hold a K-12 Principal Licensure from Hamline University. My professional journey has taken me through various roles. Most recently, I served as Assistant Principal at Faribault High School. Prior to that, I was a Student Management Specialist at Osseo Senior High School and a science teacher at Anoka High School. I have a passion for collaboration, innovation, and fostering a culture where every student feels valued and empowered.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family. I am an avid snowboarder, passionate cyclist, and a dedicated Gopher football fan.

Middle school is a critical phase in a child’s educational journey. It is a time of significant growth and development, both academically and personally. At Hastings Middle School, we understand the importance of providing a supportive and nurturing environment where students can explore their interests, develop new skills, and build strong relationships.

My name is Myles Knutson, and I am excited to join Hastings Middle School as Assistant Principal and serve the Hastings community. I believe every student’s path to success is unique, and I am committed to creating a school environment where all students feel safe, valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from St. Cloud State University and later completed my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Specialist Degree/K–12 Principal Licensure through Minnesota State University, Mankato. I began my career as a fifth-grade teacher at Highland Elementary in Apple Valley before serving as a Differentiation Specialist in the Prior Lake-Savage School District. Most recently, I served as Middle School Principal and then Middle School and Elementary Principal in the Waterville-Elysian-Morristown School District.

As Assistant Principal, I support Hastings Middle School’s 7th and 8th grade students and families. I am passionate about building positive relationships with students, families, and staff and value collaboration, trust, and open communication in helping students succeed.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling to dance competitions, coaching basketball, and enjoying Minnesota’s outdoors. I am also an avid Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Timberwolves fan. I look forward to partnering with students, families, staff, and the community to make Hastings Middle School a positive and engaging place for all learners.
