Parent Teacher Organization

Parent partnership is one important part of making Hastings Middle School a success! Whether it’s through volunteering your time or contributing resources, your support can make a big difference.

The Mission of the PTO

  1. Supplement Hastings Middle School's educational activities and support the administration, teachers, and students.

  2. Promote communication and cooperation between parents, students, teachers, and staff.

  3. Raise funds to support programs, events, and needs that enhance the experience of all students and are outside of the school budget.

  4. Encourage and help coordinate parent involvement and volunteerism.

Annual Goals of MS Raiders PTO

  1. Each year, the HMS Raiders PTO will seek to fulfill our mission statement in alignment with the current needs of the Hastings Middle School Students, Staff, and Parents.

  2. Recruit and coordinate volunteers for:

    • Consistent operation of Raider Cove.

    • Raider Way Events.

    • Other Middle School events or needs as requested by HMS administration and approved by our board.

  3. End the school year with adequate funds to cover estimated basic operating costs (insurance, bank fees, legal/accounting fees, etc.) for the following fiscal year.

  4. Conduct at least one full staff appreciation event each school year.  This will include planning the event, recruiting and coordinating volunteers, and, if applicable, providing food or refreshments for staff.

  5. Raise and contribute funds to support student enrichment activities, reducing financial barriers and burdens for all students.  This may include transportation fees, admission, or other costs identified by the administration that are not covered by the school. Our aspiration is to support at least one event available to each grade level every year
